Commercial Sliding Glass Doors Are Beneficial

It is true that commercial sliding glass doors are beneficial for both industrial and residential use because it is great in maximizing both large and small spaces. It has a greater aesthetic value compared to the customary hinged style, which makes it preferable for consumers whenever they make renovations. Sliding doors do not only have all the advantages as mentioned, but there are some disadvantages to consider before installation – nothing, of course, to dissuade you!

Installing sliding doors is a bit more complicated compared to that of the traditional. The installation procedure does not include nailing to fasten the hinge on the door and its frame, but installation of guide panels on the frame. It is a process that must be done with precision. In replacing the rollers, two or three people should carry the parts to prevent it from falling or breaking.

Due to dirt build up on the guiding panels and rollers, consumers may experience jamming troubles. Congested guiding panels and rollers will make it harder for consumers to open and close the panels, which may jeopardize the safety of the room where it is installed. Because of jamming issues, full replacement for the tracks or sliding door might be needed if putting some lubricant on the tracks will not do the trick. The worst problem that the jamming issues can bring is the possibility of the door to fall out of its track causing more damages due to shattered glass pieces which may harm other interior decorations.

Glass walls are also susceptible to burglars since glasses are easy to break and most of the sliding doors use latch mechanism that are easy for burglars to destroy which will allow them to break-in. Double-layered glass and secondary latch mechanisms are now available for added security, but these are more expensive.

As a sensible consumer, think about not only the advantages of the fixtures that are to be installed at home or in the office, but consider the disadvantages  -- if only to properly weigh the pros and cons to make a more fitting and reasonable decision.
